A man has been injured during a violent incident involving weapons and a vehicle in Dundee, police say.

Officers were called to a disturbance in the city's St Clement's Place area at about 13:40 on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

A burned-out vehicle was later found in Dundee's Baldovan Woods, and Police Scotland said officers were investigating whether it was connected to the disturbance.

There are no details what type of weapons or type of vehicle were involved.

Det Insp Craig Kelly said: "This type of violence has no place on our streets and we are following positive lines of inquiry to identify and arrest those responsible.

"There will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.

"We are aware of videos circulating on social media and would ask anyone with information, footage, or who witnessed the incident, to please contact police."
