Tumble dryer fire in Parkeston leaves family homeless

A family has been left homeless after a tumble dryer caught fire in terraced house in Essex.
Fire crews were called to Princess Street in Parkeston, near Harwich, on Wednesday at about 05:15 BST.
The blaze caused the utility room to collapse but the flames were extinguished by about 07:20, firefighters said.
Watch manager Dan Davis said the residents heard an "unusual noise" after turning on the tumble dryer.
Mr Davis added: "Thankfully the occupants noticed the fire quickly, but it was good to see the property had working smoke alarms, which our service had provided a month earlier."
