The Soviet girl who fought the Nazis and became a star

During WWII, Yevgeniya (Zhenya) Rudneva, a 20-year-old astronomy student in Moscow, joined the newly created women-only regiment of the Soviet Air Forces. In her diary, Zhenya offers a rare glimpse of her life in the regiment, where girls would fly Po-2 dust cropper planes and bomb the Nazis at night. The Germans called them Night Witches.
