The Firefly Sanctuary in Nanacamilpa, Mexico, is home to an endemic species of fireflies, the Macrolampsis palaciosi. During the rainy and humid summer nights, a frantic dance of males in search for a female to mate with creates a dreamlike show, filling the dense and dark forest with colour for about 40 minutes.
