The place trapped between two countries

Maria Baltazzi is a farmer in Cyprus. Her farm is in the buffer zone established by the UN in 1974, after Turkey invaded and split the island. Her dream is to bring the area back to its former splendour.

And she has unlikely allies: insects. "We arrived in a place that wasn’t sprayed since 1974, so we had insects, which is rare now," explains Nicholas Netien who works with her on the farm.
