Endangered California condor chicks hatched in LA

Endangered California condors are part of a recovery programme that aims to release them into the wild.

Zoos in the state work closely with the US Fish and Wildlife Service as part of the California Condor Recovery Program after the species almost went extinct in the 80s.

Now every condor chick born in captivity starts a process of adaptation towards release in a protected area.
