Isle of Man government hopes jobs fair will attract young relocators
The Manx government has said it hopes an annual jobs fair will attract more young people to relocate or return to the Isle of Man to work.
The event, held by the Department for Enterprise's Locate Isle of Man, aims to boost young professional numbers.
Department member Ann Corlett MHK said having the people and the skills "to fill key roles" was "fundamental" to the economy's long-term sustainability.
She said attendees could "network and connect with up to 60 organisations".
Registrations have opened for people to take part in the Graduate and Young Professional Fair on 27 March.
A Locate Isle of Man spokeswoman said a survey after the 2023 event found 78% of attendees "were now more aware of the opportunities available", while 50% were "more likely to seek permanent employment in the Isle of Man as a direct result".
Technology, finance, healthcare, construction and biotech businesses were among those represented at the fair.
Ms Corlett said boosting the island's skills base and numbers of young professionals was "a strategic ambition of the Island Plan".
The government hopes to grow the population to 100,000 by 2037 and create 5,000 new employment opportunities.
The event, which is also open to people already living on the island, will take place at the Comis Hotel and Golf Resort in Douglas.
