Coronavirus: Guernsey confirms second case in five months
States of GuernseyGuernsey has confirmed a further case of coronavirus on the island, just a day after declaring it was "Covid-free".
The island's first case since 30 April was said to have recovered on Thursday, meaning Guernsey had "no known" cases.
However a second case has since been identified in a UK arrival from a day-seven swab.
The patient went straight into self-isolation upon arrival and is "doing well" in quarantine, the States said.
Dr Nicola Brink, the island's Director of Public Health, said the case demonstrated its border controls, testing regimes and track and trace protocols were "working".
"Again, it is important that the community are reassured that we have robust systems in place to identify and manage cases of Covid-19."
