Dog with terminal cancer nominated for BBC award
Black labrador Kingston has been at Jax Kennedy's side for eight years.
While working as a Metropolitan Police officer, Jax suffered a vicious attack that left her with life-changing injuries.
She struggled with her disability, losing her independence and relying on others to care for her.
Since being gifted Kingston by the charity Canine Partners, Jax has found her independence again and, with Kingston’s help and care, is now happy living life again.
Kingston, who has been nominated for a BBC Radio London Make a Difference Award, has recently retired after being diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer, so now every moment for them both is precious.
UPDATE: Since filming, Kingston's condition worsened and he sadly died but Jax wanted us to share their story in tribute to the impact he had on her life.
