YouTuber fulfils dream with foam aircraft carrier

A YouTuber says it is a dream come true for him to land two Guinness World Records for building and using a remote-controlled aircraft carrier on a lake.

James Whomsley, from Cheshire, designed and built the huge foam model and then floated it on Rudyard Lake in Staffordshire.

The 29-year-old, who runs the ProjectAir channel on YouTube with more than 560,000 subscribers, said he had dreamt of making the foam carrier since the age of 12.

He hoped his exploits could inspire youngsters to get into engineering.

Despite not being good at science at school, he said his online exploits showed "you can be an engineer if you put your mind to it".
