Watch: Disqualified driver pursued by police

A disqualified driver who led a police pusuit claimed he was not the person behind the wheel.

Michael Murray, 47, drove his van through red lights and on the wrong side of the carriageway as he tried to evade arrest in Peterborough on 25 October last year.

He admitted dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and was sentenced to 14 months in prison, suspended for 20 months, at Cambridge Crown Court on 2 August.

Murray, of Fen View, Stanground, was also disqualified from driving for 18 months and must complete a 25-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.

He was also ordered to adhere to a curfew between 21:00 and 06:00 for the next three months, which will be monitored via an electronic tag.
