Chancellor asked about two-child benefit cap
The chancellor was asked whether she will scrap the two-child benefit cap, after calls from some Labour MPs for the party to reconsider the current rules.
Speaking on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, Rachel Reeves said removing the cap would cost “more than £3bn a year” - and that Labour has been clear it won’t make spending commitments without being able to fund them.
She claims the government will lift children out of poverty, but she is not "willing to make unfunded commitments".
"I am going to run our economy with iron discipline."
