'Scary' near-miss with tree during Storm Darragh

A driver captured the moment a tree fell in his path on Saturday during Storm Darragh.

Chris Reeve said: "I had mum and dad in the back, both in their 80s, and my sister next to me, so pretty high stakes."

Mr Reeve was travelling on the B1398 near Hemswell in Lincolnshire when the incident happened.

"At the time it was automatic", he added "but it's scary in hindsight".

Storm Darragh brought winds of about 60mph (96km/h), causing power cuts in some rural areas.

It was the fourth serious storm to hit the UK since mid-October.
