Dad uses son's heart condition to help others
Jim has been caring for his son Jaxson since he was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a rare and complex heart condition.
Despite 18-month-old Jaxson having had open-heart surgery, there are no further surgeries or medical options left, and he is now in palliative care.
Jim has been by his son's side day and night, both in the hospital and at home, providing more than 100 hours of care a week to try to make his life as comfortable and happy as possible.
To help other families in similar situations, Jim has been raising awareness of heart conditions like Jaxson's and has recently been nominated for a BBC Radio London Make a Difference Award for his efforts.
