Blizzard pounds US Midwest with heavy snow and whiteout conditions
Several states across the Midwest and central US were hit with a major storm system that brought snow and thunderstorms.
Blizzard warnings stretched from Kansas to Minnesota, where dangerous white out conditions on roadways caused travel disruptions. In Lakota, Iowa, snow totals from the blizzard reached 14.5 inches.
The storm system will move east, where it is set to drench the US East Coast.
