Watch: Lawmakers clash on Trump's spending bill as Musk sparks row
Elon Musk, the world's richest man, is calling on voters to contact their representatives in Congress to voice their opposition to President Donald Trump's Big Beautiful Bill. "Bankrupting America is not OK!" he wrote on X on Wednesday. "KILL the BILL."
The bill contains a $4tn increase in the US debt-limit borrowing authority, includes huge tax breaks and more investment in defence. It was passed in the US House of Representatives on 22 May, with the Senate due to vote on the bill in the coming weeks.
Lawmakers from both the Republican and Democratic parties chime in on what they make of the controversial bill.
