'Harrowing' terrorism exercise at cricket ground
A "harrowing" exercise to test the response of emergency services to a major terrorist attack has been held in Nottinghamshire.
Multiple local and national agencies took part in the event at Trent Bridge cricket ground in West Bridgford on Monday.
The fictional attack was not in response to any specific threat.
Diane Coulson, assistant chief constable at the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: "It is a harrowing exercise but I think what's really important is that, whilst these incidents are rare, should they happen we have to be really prepared."
