Youngest MP's new-found fame 'a bit of a shock'
The youngest MP in the House of Commons said his new-found fame had been difficult to deal with.
Labour’s Sam Carling, 22, narrowly won the North West Cambridgeshire seat at the 2024 general election.
The Cambridge University science graduate beat veteran Conservative MP Shailesh Vara by 39 votes to take the seat.
Answering some quick-fire questions for the BBC at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, he said: "The amount I've been recognised in public has come as a bit of a shock."
