Children learn water safety after Thames drowning
The family of a teenager who drowned after jumping from a bridge over the Thames during a heatwave has been supporting a scheme run by London Fire Brigade, to teach young people about the risks of swimming in dangerous waters.
On 18 July 2022, Brian Sasu, 14, jumped from a bridge into the water below, but drowned. His body was recovered the next day.
Pupils from Brian’s school, St Mark’s in Hounslow, were invited alongside his family to Twickenham Fire Station to learn more about water safety ahead of the school summer holidays.
