Narrowboat life 'makes you appreciate the good times'
Living sustainably on a narrowboat has made a couple "really appreciate the good times", the pair have told the BBC.
Jack Miles and Gabby Barrett have lived on their fully electric boat along the Oxford Canal near Lower Heyford for the past five years.
Their one-year-old son Joe, whose first word was "duck", lives with them on the vessel alongside the family's miniature schnauzer Tilly.
As well as looking after a one-year-old and a dog, the pair also keep bees, have their own allotment and forage for their own food.
"It's not all easy, it's not all amazing - but I think that is part of the beauty of it, because you really appreciate the good times," Ms Barrett said.
"It's made us reassess what you actually need in life, and what you don't."
The couple also run their own YouTube channel, called This Tiny Life, where they document life on their floating home.
