Weather forecast: Perseid meteor shower

The Perseid meteor shower should be visible in the sky above Scotland on Monday night.

BBC Scotland weather presenter Gillian Smart presents a special forecast for anyone hoping to see the Perseid meteor shower.

Debris from the Swift-Tuttle Comet can be seen as the Earth passes through the comet's trail.

As that debris hits our planet's atmosphere, it burns up and creates spectacular streaks of light
