'Outlandish comments': US, Canada and Mexico go toe-to-toe over tariffs
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his country will react forcefully and immediately to US tariffs promised by President Donald Trump. Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum said she is trying to avoid the tariff 'scenario'.
Trump said he will impose tariffs on Saturday of 25% on both countries, as well as 10% on China.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the Canada and Mexico duties were in response to "the illegal fentanyl that they have sourced and allowed to distribute" into the US.
