Wales' biggest solar farm gets go-ahead on Anglesey
Plans to build Wales' largest solar farm on Anglesey have been approved.
Councillors have agreed that 200,000 solar panels can be built on the 220 acre (89 hectares) area of land near Llanbadrig in Cemaes Bay.
The controversial plans had initially been rejected despite council officers recommending conditional approval.
The developers have claimed the 49.9MW development will have a lifespan of 30 years and power thousands of homes on the island.
Objections were made by the local councillor, Llanbadrig and Mechell community councils and Amlwch town council while 135 letters were received from individuals and organisations.
Anglesey council had turned down the plans but developer Countryside Renewables lodged an appeal.
