A man has died after a van crashed on the M48 motorway in south Wales.

Gwent Police said a white Ford Transit van was involved in the crash at about 14:00 GMT.

It happened on the westbound carriageway between junction 23 of the M4 and junction two of the M48 at Chepstow, Monmouthshire.

The driver of the van, a 77-year-old man from Chepstow, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The force added his family had been informed.
