A 35-year-old man has been arrested after a swan was dragged through a park by the neck.

Gwent police said it was holding the man in custody for causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

A man was captured on video by a passer-by dragging the swan near Caerphilly Castle on 3 December.

The incident was reported at 16:20 GMT on Sunday and a man is being questioned by police.
