Heavy rain and strong winds could cause travel disruption on Thursday

Flooding and travel disruption is expected in Wales following heavy rain and strong winds.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, in place from Thursday until 18:00 GMT, when more than 20mm (0.8in) of rain could fall.

Strong winds up to 50 mph (81 km/h) near coasts is due to accompany the rain.

The forecaster also said the rain and wind could lead to power cuts.

The warning is in place for 14 counties in Wales - these are Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Pembrokeshire, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, Torfaen and Vale of Glamorgan.
