Traffic is causing congestion on a busy stretch of the M4 motorway in south Wales emergency repairs are carried out following a lorry crash on Tuesday.

The outside lanes are shut in both directions around Swansea between the Ynysforgan and Llangyfelach turn-offs, junctions 45 and 46.

It comes as work to repair crash barriers near one of Cardiff's busiest motorway junctions has finished.

A lane was shut in each direction at Coryton after a lorry crash on Tuesday.

One person was taken to the hospital after the incident at junction 32 - at about 11:00 BST on Tuesday. The condition of the injured person is not known.

One lane was shut in both directions on Wednesday morning due to emergency repairs to the crash barriers but work finished about 11:30.

But work is ongoing on the M4 at Swansea on a day that the RAC has warned could be the busiest travel day of the day with people going on their staycation break.

The queues in Swansea could affect tourists heading on holiday to west Wales or to ferry ports for sailings to the Republic of Ireland.
