Golden eagle numbers hit their highest level in centuries
A project to boost golden eagle numbers in southern Scotland has taken numbers to their highest level in centuries.
There were thought to be only three breeding pairs just five years ago.
There are now estimated to be about 46 in the area thanks to the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project.
The news comes ahead of a festival in Moffat to celebrate the iconic bird.
