Firefighters tackle large blaze at Sandend fish merchants

Thirty firefighters have tackled a large blaze at a fish merchants' plant in Aberdeenshire.

Four appliances and a water carrier were sent to J. Smith fish merchants in Seaview Road, Sandend, near Portsoy, shortly before 06:00.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said crews extinguished the blaze, and left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.

The SFRS added that there were no reports of any casualties.

The fish processor supplies hotels, fish vans, fish shops and fish and chip outlets.
