Glasgow homes evacuated in 'hazardous substance' alert

A number of homes were evacuated in the east end of Glasgow after a potentially hazardous substance was found in a property.

Emergency services, including fire and police crews, were called to the scene on Shettleston Road in Tollcross.

Shettleston Road was closed at Fernan Street, St Mark Street, Blair Street and Old Shettleston Road.

Police Scotland asked people to avoid the area and said inquiries were ongoing.
