Man arrested over woman's death in North Berwick

A 37-year-old man has been arrested over the death of a 33-year-old woman in North Berwick.

Officers were called to a "report of concern" at a property in Craigleith Avenue in the East Lothian town at 08:20 on New Year's Day.

Emergency services attended the incident but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A number of police vehicles remained at the property in the seaside town on Tuesday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and inquiries are continuing."
