The driver, a woman in her 20s and from Westbury, Wiltshire, was airlifted to Southmead Hospital where she remains.

The road, which was closed from Dilton Marsh High Street to the A36 Black Dog Hill junction while investigations took place, reopened by 07:00 GMT on Tuesday.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with relevant dash cam footage to get in touch.
