A holiday park on the East Sussex coast is to close immediately, its owner has announced.

On Thursday, Pontins said its site at Camber Sands, near Rye, would shut "with immediate effect".

It also announced that another park at Prestatyn in north Wales would also close straight away.

On its website, Pontins has apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused.

The company added: "Customers whose bookings will be affected by these closures will be contacted by our team and refunded. "
