Works to upgrade 1970s signalling equipment and speed up train journeys have been completed.

The final phase of the £375m five-year project was completed on Sunday.

Network Rail said it will bring more reliable journeys to customers travelling between Reading, London and Guildford.

They said the modern signalling system will increase future capacity, mean fewer delays, and improve the safety of level crossings.
