Storm Babet: Framlingham pub owner in tears after damage 'not covered'
A landlady is devastated after she was told the damage to her pub caused by Storm Babet was "not covered by insurance".
Laura Robinson, owner of The Railway Inn in Framlingham, Suffolk, claims she found out on Monday that she will have to cover repair costs herself.
The 22-year-old says she has been "crying a lot" and did not know if she will reopen.
Parts of Suffolk have experienced flooding after Storm Babet hit the UK.
Ms Robinson claims around 75% of the pub was affected by the flooding and locals have pitched in to help.
She said "most" of the electrics were damaged, skirting boards have come away from the walls, floorboards have detached and plastering has been affected throughout the pub.
Ms Robinson claims her insurance firm initially told her it was going to send a team to help but later came back and said she was not actually insured for flood damage.
"We don't even know when we're going to reopen," the landlady told the BBC.
"I don't think it's really sunk in yet, I've been crying a lot."
However, she is thankful to residents who have come to her aid and is appealing for more helpers to get in touch.
She said 12 people had assisted in clearing up the mess and have been "cracking on getting it done".
"Everyone has been really, really helpful," she said.
