Passenger hurt as Doncaster bus pelted with bricks
A passenger suffered a serious facial injury when a bus was pelted with bricks in Doncaster, police have said.
The 81 bus was travelling along Beech Road in Armthorpe when it was hit by a number of missiles at about 18:00 BST on 23 October.
South Yorkshire Police said the passenger was taken to hospital for treatment.
PC Laura Connell said such attacks were not tolerated and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
A First Bus South Yorkshire spokesperson said several similar incidents over the last few months had caused more than £15,000 damage to glass and bodywork panels on buses.
The company said it may have to remove services from some areas at short notice if there were repeated incidents of similar anti-social behaviour.
"We work closely with police to try and identify people involved as this kind of anti-social behaviour can be extremely dangerous and will not be tolerated," First added.
In a similar incident in November 2022 several evening Stagecoach bus services were cancelled near Barnsley after stones were thrown at buses.
