Three boys arrested following Appleford house fire

Two 12-year-old boys and an 11-year-old boy have been arrested following a house fire.

Nobody was injured in the fire which started around 15:00 GMT on Tuesday at a house on Church Street in Appleford, near Didcot.

Officers from Thames Valley Police remain at the scene, as does Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The three boys were arrested on suspicion of arson, and have been released on bail.

Det Sgt Nathan Adby said: "We are investigating this as an incident of arson at this time but are keeping an open mind while enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.

"This is an isolated incident and I don't believe there to be any wider community concern."

Police are appealing for any potential witnesses to come forward.
