A man who was found by police hiding in the loft above a cannabis factory has been jailed for 10 months.

Nottinghamshire Police said Vitalijus Liutkus was discovered behind boxes and insulation by officers who had found plants, pots and plastic sheets in a property on Clumber Street, Warsop, on 21 January.

The 26-year-old, of Clumber Street, admitted cultivating a Class B drug.

He was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday.

Insp Kyle Davies, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Although officers attended this address on unrelated matters, it quickly became clear the property was being used to cultivate cannabis on a large scale.

"This was putting neighbouring homes at risk in many different ways."
