Nottinghamshire tennis courts reopen after £160,000 revamp
Two public tennis court complexes in Nottinghamshire have reopened for play after a £160,000 renovation scheme.
The courts at Huthwaite Welfare Park, in Huthwaite, and Sutton Lawn, in Sutton-in-Ashfield, have been resurfaced, and new access gates and fencing has been installed.
Ashfield District Council said it carried out the work in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
It has also earmarked £55,000 for new floodlights at Sutton Lawn.
It said further refurbishments would be carried out at the tennis facilities in Kingsway Park, in Kirkby in Ashfield, later in 2024.
LTA chief operating officer Julie Porter said she hoped the upgrades would encourage more people in the district to take up the sport.
