Pair charged over 13 car thefts in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire

Two people have been charged after 13 cars were stolen from addresses in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

They included keyless cars taken from driveways, as well as thefts following home break-ins between September and November.

Police said one theft was from a delivery driver while he was dropping off in Nottingham city in September.

A 30-year-old man and a woman, 26, have been charged with conspiring to steal motor vehicles.

The cars were stolen from addresses in Nottingham, Southwell, Nuthall and Sutton-in-Ashfield, and across the county border in Leicester, Wigston and Loughborough.

Nottinghamshire Police said a warrant was executed at an address in Giltbrook, Nottinghamshire, on Tuesday, and the suspects were arrested.

The man, from The Meadows, Nottingham, and the woman, from Giltbrook, are due to re-appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 14 December, the force said.

It added the man had been remanded in custody and the woman granted conditional bail.
