Man dies in A1 crash in Nottinghamshire

A 36-year-old man has died in a crash on the A1 in Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire Police said emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway near Markham Moore at about 06:20 GMT on Friday .

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the road remained closed in both directions for several hours.

Sgt Mark Baker asked anyone with information to come forward and said their "sincere condolences are with the victim's family and friends".
