Woman jailed for causing explosion at Northampton home of ex-partner
A woman who set her flat on fire and caused an explosion at her ex-partner's home has been jailed.
Lauren Marie Talbot, 39, from Northampton, admitted arson with intent to endanger life and was sent to prison for six years.
Ms Talbot started several fires in her flat in Kingsley, Northampton on 21 December 2022.
When fire crews arrived, they found writing on the wall, which read: "This flat can burn in hell".
She then carried out a pre-planned an attack on her ex-partner's flat in the Drapery in Northampton town centre on 18 June 2023.
Talbot caused a blast that blew two doors open, cracked the walls and burned the carpet.
Her ex-partner was not in at the time, though evidence suggested Talbot thought he would be, police said. No-one was injured.
