Someone cut the lock off a field gate in Crick, near Daventry in Northamptonshire, and herded the sheep in.

They then secured the field with their own padlock and left.

Northamptonshire Police's Rural Crime Team said it happened between 1 January and 6 January, and the culprit had not been traced.

The team wants anyone with information about the un-ewe-sual case to get in touch to help them solve the mystery.
