Wellingborough: Labour select candidate in Peter Bone's seat
The Labour Party has selected a new parliamentary candidate in the constituency of a MP accused of bullying and sexual misconduct.
Peter Bone, the MP for Wellingborough, in Northamptonshire, was suspended from the House of Commons for six weeks last month after a report was published by Parliament's behaviour watchdog.
He was also suspended from the Tory Party but denies the allegations.
A recall petition has begun and Labour announced Gen Kitchen as its candidate.
A by-election will take place if at least 10% of voters in Wellingborough sign the recall petition, which is due to run until 19 December.
Ms Kitchen grew up in Northamptonshire and went to school in the county.
In 2019, four parties stood in the constituency - Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats and the Green Party.
A spokesperson for the Greens said it was still going through the process to confirm a candidate for Wellingborough.
The Wellingborough Conservative Association declined to comment.
The Lib Dems in North Northamptonshire said local members were in the advanced stages of selecting a candidate for the next parliamentary election.
The investigation by Parliament's Independent Expert Panel (IEP) found Mr Bone bullied and was sexually inappropriate around a former member of staff.
