Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Litherland

An 81-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a car, police have said.

The woman was struck on Sefton Road, Litherland at 17:00 GMT on Thursday.

Merseyside Police said she was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died from her injuries on Saturday afternoon, two days later.

The driver of the white SEAT Leon car stopped at the scene, the force added. Police have appealed for any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage.
