River Weaver: Body found in search for 16-year-old boy
Police searching for a 16-year-old boy who was believed to have fallen into a river have found a body.
Emergency services had been scouring the River Weaver near Frodsham since about 16:00 BST on Monday.
The body was recovered from the water at about 11:30 BST, Cheshire Police said.
Supt Alexander McMillan said: "This appears to be a tragic accident and our thoughts are with the boy's family at this difficult time."
Police said formal identification had not yet taken place but the body was thought to be that of the missing boy and his parents had been informed.
It comes as emergency services warned of the invisible, deadly dangers associated with open water after six people drowned in English lakes and rivers over the weekend.
The Met Office has issued an amber extreme heat weather warning for parts of England and told people to watch out for sunburn and heat exhaustion.
