Bury girl, 8, cuts hair for cancer patient wig

An eight-year-old girl, who was was moved when she learned of a young boy suffering from a brain tumour and how he had lost his hair through illness, has donated her own locks to help other cancer patients.

Savanah, from Ramsbottom in Bury, saw a BBC North West Tonight report on Oliver's army, which showed how his twin brother and friends had shaved their hair off for the charity Young Lives Versus Cancer.

She said she wanted to cut her hair "so I can give it to a little girl, because she might be really sad that she's lost her hair".

A crowdfunding page was set up to raise £650, which is what is needed to make, style and fit a wig.
