Wigan Athletic give Callum Jones a 'hero's welcome' after cancer all-clear
Wigan Athletic's players have given their under-18 captain a "hero's welcome" after he returned to training for the first time following treatment for cancer.
The club said it was "proud to announce" Callum Jones had completed his treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
On Instagram, the right-back, who is also a lifelong Latics fan, said he had undergone "a tough few months" of chemotherapy, but was "happy to be able to say that my treatment has been successful".
"I can't wait to be back to full health and back on the pitch," he added.
