Didsbury death: Fifth murder arrest over traffic lights attack

A fifth man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an "altercation" at a set of traffic lights.

Sadiq Al-lami, 30, died in hospital after two cars had stopped at lights on the A34, Kingsway, in Didsbury in the early hours of 23 January.

Greater Manchester Police said a 24-year-old man had been taken into custody.

Four men, aged between 18 and 23, have been charged with Mr Al-lami's murder.

Mr Al-lami's family said his "warmth and love touched the hearts of everyone he met".

"His love and laughter were contagious, and he was always full of life," they added.

Det Insp Alex Wilkinson said: "We are continuing to search for justice for Sadiq's loved ones.

"Our inquiries are moving at pace, and we continue to work hard to capture a picture of what happened in the events leading up to and after Sadiq's death."
