Didsbury death: Man charged with traffic lights murder

An 18-year-old has been charged with murdering a man who died after being attacked at traffic lights.

Sadiq Al-lami, 30, died in hospital after two cars had stopped at lights on the A34, Kingsway, in Didsbury, Manchester, at 01:40 GMT on Tuesday.

Noraiz Kamal is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Friday charged with his murder.

Mr Al-lami's family said his "warmth and love touched the hearts of everyone he met".

"His love and laughter were contagious, and he was always full of life," they added.

The assault happened at the junction near Parrs Wood on the A34 Kingsway, Greater Manchester Police said.

Det Insp Alex Wilkinson said the investigation was "still in its early stages" and officers wanted to speak to "a number of people" who were present at the scene.

Appealing for information and any CCTV or dashcam footage, they added: "Vehicles involved in this incident had been driving at high speed near Parrs Wood on the A34 Kingsway in East Didsbury at around 1.30am."
